Minister Kim Yung Ho attends volunteer event to celebrate Hangawi
with North Korean defectors (September 25)
On September 25, in celebration of Chuseok, Unification Minister Kim
Yung Ho participated in a volunteer event called “Sharing Side Dishes”
with North Korean defector volunteers from the Hana Center of the
Unification Ministry.
*The “Sharing Side Dishes” event is a project that has been ongoing
since 2010, jointly organized by the Hana Center and Yangcheon-gu to
deliver food for elderly individuals living alone.
Minister Kim expressed gratitude and offered words of encouragement
to North Korean defectors for their consistent volunteer efforts as
members of our society.
The minister personally delivered homemade food to elderly residents
living alone in Yangcheon-gu, checked on their health and living
conditions, and provided solace.
The Ministry of Unification continues to collaborate with North
Korean defectors to ensure a better understanding of the living
conditions of vulnerable North Korean defectors, while fostering a
sense of pride as citizens of the Republic of Korea.
