“A unified future of the Korean Peninsula” is one in which freedom
and human rights are guaranteed and peace and prosperity are enjoyed
by both South and North Koreans
The Center for Unified Korean Future holds a festival to raise
awareness of unification in Yeoncheon-gun
On November 3, celebrating its 9th founding anniversary, the Center
for Unified Korean Future, which is run by the Ministry of
Unification, held a festival to raise awareness of a unified future in
collaboration with Yeoncheon-gun.
The festival featured various programs, where people of all ages and
both ***es can enjoy “a unified future,” such as South and North
Korean culinary culture experiences, films about human rights in North
Korea, creating unification characters, outdoor exhibitions depicting
the realities of North Korea, B-boy performances, and healing camps.
In his commemorative remarks at the event, Unification Minister Kim
Yung Ho stressed that “we will be able to fast-track a liberal,
democratic, and peaceful unification only when North Korea’s
denuclearization is achieved and the freedom and human rights of North
Koreans are guaranteed.” Minister Kim also expressed his commitment to
evolve the Center for Unified Korean Future into an “open center” that
promotes the vision of “a free unification” with the local community.
