The Unification Ministry will join together in overcoming
difficulties for North Korean defectors.
Unification Vice Minister Moon Seoung-hyun visits and encourages a
visually impaired North Korean defector ahead of the year-end season
(December 18)
On December 18, Unification Vice Minister Moon Seoung-hyun visited a
visually impaired North Korean defector* in her 50s. During the visit,
he provided support for purchasing necessities, ate lunch together,
and offered comfort and encouragement for her difficult circumstances.
* Selected as a person eligible for the “support project for North
Korean defectors in crisis” by the Ministry of Unification
Mentioning that “it is the Unification Ministry’s duty to help
socially vulnerable people settle well in South Korean society,” Vice
Minister Moon expressed his commitment to “explore ways to better
assist North Korean defectors and make strenuous efforts to implement
policies that yield tangible results.”
