The Ministry of Unification announced the 20 teams which made it to the finals for the 2017 Unification Start-up Idea Contest on July 27.
The Ministry of Unification received applicants’ ideas from June 12 to July 20 under the theme of “Start-up fever that grips a unified Korea, if you are a protagonist.” Young people in their 20s and 30s (those born from 1978 to 1998) showed great interest in the contest.
The 20 teams which made it to the finals will be given an orientation session on August 3, and each team will develop its own ideas and prepare for the final exhibition to be held in September.
Six prizes will be awarded: the Grand Prize, two Excellence Awards, and three Participation Awards. The prize money will total KRW 14 million.
An official at the Ministry of Unification said, “The Ministry of Unification extends its thanks to those young people who participated in the contest with imagination and creative thinking. The Ministry also asks the young people to take great interest in the exhibition to be held in September.”
