3. Q&A (Partial)
Q. Do you have plans to make another proposal to the North
(regarding Mount Geumgang tours)?
A. The Government is closely consulting with related parties and
preparing countermeasures regarding Mt. Geumgang tours, adhering to
the principle of protecting the property rights of our citizens and
carrying out agreements made between the leaders of the South and the
North. There is nothing new to add regarding another round of
proposals for the North.
Q. There are about two weeks left until the 21st anniversary of the
inter-Korean tour program at Mt. Geumgang. Have you discussed plans to
visit the North with officials from Hyundai Asan?
A. As you have mentioned, November 18 marks the 21st anniversary of
the Mount Geumgang tour program. However, I believe a visit to the
North on the occasion of the anniversary is not being considered at
the moment. The Government will closely consult with tour operators
and devise creative methods to solve the issues concerning Mt. Geumgang.
