3. Q&A
Q. The Ministry explained that it will be inspecting 25
government-registered civic organizations – what was the standard for selection?
A. Based on annual performance reports submitted by civic groups,
the Ministry selected groups with insufficient reports and/or
submitted material.
Q. So is it wrong to say that the selection was made with a focus on
North Korean human rights groups and groups run by North Korean defectors?
A. All civic organizations registered to the Ministry will be
subject for inspection. However, as the process asks for a
considerable amount of administrative manpower, we will begin with
groups concerning North Korean human rights and settlement support for
North Korean defectors. We will expand the inspections to
organizations in other areas of interest in the future.
