Q. I am aware the Ministry has been approving civic groups’ requests
to send goods to the North, including those related to fighting
Covid-19. Are there any difficulties in the delivery of these goods
with North Korea’s border closure?
A. Difficulties do exist, and challenges are expected to increase if
North Korea tightens its border control measures.
Q. The North’s Rodong Sinmun published articles today emphasizing
the need to wear masks and take preventive measures against Covid-19.
How do you evaluate the current situation in North Korea?
A. The Ministry makes judgements based on the North’s official
statement. North Korea is yet to announce any cases of Covid-19, and
the WHO has not confirmed any cases either.
