Q. Tomorrow(11.29) is the 5th anniversary of the North Korea’s
declaration of completing its nuclear force. What is the Ministry’s
take on the future possibility of the North’s nuclear test?
A. On November 29, 2017, North Korea declared the completion of its
nuclear force with the launch of the Hwasong-15. However, there is
nothing specific the Ministry can confirm regarding North Korea’s developments.
Regarding the nuclear test, although there is currently no sign of
imminence, the Government sees that North Korea is ready to conduct a
nuclear test at anytime upon President Kim Jong Un’s decision.
