On May 25, Unification Minister Kwon Youngse stood on the podium at
Ewha Womans University (Ewha), a leading university for unification
education, to give a one-off special lecture on unification on the
occasion of the 11th Unification Education Week.
The lecture was attended by Ehwa President Kim Eun-mee and Ehwa
professors as well as about 200 students, including international
students from the UK, Mongolia, and China.
Minister Kwon gave a special lecture on “Peaceful Unification of the
Korean Peninsula and the Yoon Administration’s Unification and North
Korean Policies.”
In particular, the minister asked the young generations for “their
understanding on the human rights issue in North Korea, interest and
participation in preparing for a unified future, and empathy for North
Korean defectors, who are viewed as the ‘precursor to unification’, as
part of our society.
The special lecture ended with a passionate Q&A session, and
served as an opportunity to affirm the young generations’ interest in
and promote their understanding on unification.
