On June 28, Minister Kwon Youngse visited flood prevention facilities
near the Imjin River and met with the officials of relevant agencies
who work in flood control during the rainy season.
After listening to the official’s briefings, Minister Kwon
emphasized that North Korea should notify South Korea in advance
before discharging waters from the Hwanggang Dam to protect the lives
and safety of the residents near the inter-Korean border.
He also offered condolences to residents who have suffered from
floods and expressed gratitude for those who work hard to prevent
flood damage.
