Covering the “dream of unification” through the eyes of
youth
Unification Ministry holds kick-off and completion
ceremonies for college student reporter corps (Unicorn)
On May 9, the Ministry of Unification held a kick-off ceremony for
the 18th College Student Reporter Corps (Unicorn) and a completion
ceremony for the 17th Unicorn at the Inter-Korean Relations Management Bureau.
The 18th Unicorn Corps is composed of 40 young individuals
interested in unification and North Korea and they are expected to
play a role in building and expanding public consensus on unification
over the next year.
At the event, Minister of Unification Kim Yung Ho presented letters
of appointment to the 18th Unicorn members and awarded certificates of
completion and ministerial commendations to the 17th Unicorn members,
who have faithfully carried out their activities over the past year.
Following the ceremonies, Minister Kim held a conversation with the
Unicorn members on unification.
Minister Kim emphasized that, as the corps “represents the voice of
the young generation of the Republic of Korea on unification,” he
urged them to create content that resonates with the public and helps
people feel that unification is “my issue” and an “issue for all of us.”
Notably, the Minister stressed the importance of boldly taking on
challenges, observing the world through the eyes of youth, and
communicating and cooperating with one another.
