On September 14-15, Vice
Minister Kim Ki Woong delivered the opening remarks at the 11th
Korea–Germany Unification Advisory Committee.
Vice Minister
Kim, acting as the Committee chair, mentioned that the Government
considers denuclearization, peace, and prosperity on the Korean
Peninsula as some of the top priorities and continues to exert
efforts to solve pending issues through inter-Korean dialogue and to
normalize the relations and, thereby, take further steps toward
unification.
He also affirmed that social and cultural
exchanges based on ethnic, historic, and religious culture were
being pushed forward without discontinuation even before North Korea
decided to denuclearize.
The committee will make every effort
to expand this opportunity to cooperate and prepare for unification
and integration on top of the countries’ consensus.
