On November 17, Unification Minister Kwon Youngse met with Chairman
Yang Jun Hyuk of the Yang Jun Hyuk Baseball Foundation.
Minister Kwon expressed his deep gratitude and encouragement for the
Yang Jun Hyuk Baseball Foundation’s efforts to support the children of
North Korean defectors. When asked to participate in the Foundation’s
charity baseball tournament in its 10th year, Minister Kwon responded
that it was an honor to be invited to such a meaningful event and that
he would be more than happy to participate.
The Yang Jun Hyuk Baseball Foundation holds the only charity
baseball tournament in Korea, supporting underprivileged people and
nurturing teenagers through sports. This year, in particular, the
Korea Hana Foundation will co-host the charity baseball tournament to
deliver a message of peace and reconciliation on the Korean Peninsula
and foster unity between the people of the two Koreas through baseball
tournaments. This event also supports the settlement of North Korean
defectors in the South.
