The Ministry of Unification invites colleges and universities to take part in the Omnibus Special Lectures and Unification‧North Korea Courses project for the second semester of 2017.
The Ministry of Unification plans to offer college students many opportunities to receive unification education by supporting 20 colleges in offering Omnibus Special Lectures or Unification‧North Korea Courses.
The Ministry of Unification and the Korean Political Science Association will invite colleges and universities to join the project from April 19 to May 17 and announce the selections on May 24.
The screening committee consists of internal and external experts and will impartially review the applications with respect to the project plans, lecture contents, field study contents, and ripple effects.
The committee will particularly focus on ways to increase the participation of college students, including the selection of lecturers from a variety of areas, original lecture contents, and novel teaching methods.
The Ministry of Unification selected 11 universities for the Omnibus Special Lectures and 16 universities for the Unification‧North Korea Courses for the first semester of 2017 in January and began rendering support to the universities in March as planned.
During the first semester, 5,000 college students will get knowledge of and experience in unification and North Korea through both field studies and classroom study.
The universities that would like to join the Omnibus Special Lectures and Unification‧North Korea Courses project for the second semester of 2017 should submit applications and project plans to the Korean Political Science Association by May 17.
