Korea fired 8 ballistic missiles from several simultaneously

Standing Committee Meeting (June 5)] o It was agreed
that North Korea fired ballistic missiles from several areas
in various ways as a way of test on the security attitude in
the early term of the new Presidential administration and
challenging the new administration. Moreover, the Committee
strongly blamed the attempt as an event to raise tension on
the Korean Peninsula and an infringement of the UN Mandate.
o President Yoon Suk Yeol of the ROK pointed out that
North Korea made provocative activities by firing missiles
every ninth day this year. President Yoon requested to
ceaselessly strengthen the Korea-US alliance to extend
deterrence and the combined defense status, including Korea-US
missile defense drills to maintain definite readiness
conditions at all times. o“Participants urged the North
Korean regime to realize that they could get nothing from
threats using missiles and nuclear weapons and to start
conversation and cooperation as soon as possible.” |

for Memorial Day “Threats by North Korea using missiles
and nuclear weapons have been advancing even at this moment.
North Korea filed several ballistic missiles yesterday. The
missiles and nuclear weapons of North Korea are threatening
peace in Northeast Asia and the World, as well as the Korean
Peninsula. The Government will take resolute and strict measures
against any provocations by North Korea. The Government will
secure more fundamental and practical security competency by

Unification stated opinions on preventing flood damage in the
frontier districts. “As a fundamental action to prevent
the residents’ life and property from being damaged in frontier
districts under the circumstances of potential flood damages in
the rainy season, the Ministry of Unification requests that
North Korea notifies the South of reservoir release in North
Korea in advance in accordance with the Inter-Korea agreement.”
“In consideration of the unstable communication link
between South and North Korea and the urgency of the issue, the
Ministry of Unification publicly requests North Korea to notify
in advance and will deliver an official written notice to North
Korea when the communication line is restored in the future.”

communication line between the Office of Inter-Korean Joint

stated disappointment on the floodgate opening of Hwanggang Dam
in North Korea without notice (briefing by Ministry of
Unification) “While the Ministry of Unification requested
North Korea to notify in advance when opening the floodgate on
Jun. 28, the Ministry of Unification identified that the
floodgate of Hwanggang Dam was opened as heavy rain continued in
North Korea. The Ministry of Unification was very disappointed
that North Korea didn’t give any notices to South Korea and
didn’t respond to our request related to the opening of
