The National Defense Committee adopted the “Resolution Criticizing Launch of Ballistic Missiles by North Korea and Urging to Stop such Launches.”
1. The National Assembly of the ROK strongly criticizes North Korea as the continuing launches of ballistic missiles and artillery fire by North Korea is an infringement of the UN Security Mandate as well as the Military Agreement on September 19, and the serious illegal behavior threatens peace on the Korean Peninsula and the entire world and resolutely urges North Korea to immediately stop such provocative behaviors.
2. The National Assembly of the ROK is certain that the Kim Jong-un regime couldn’t maintain its existence, resulting in international alienation and self-destruction, if North Korea continues its provocative behaviors, including the launch of ballistic missiles and rigidly warns that the North Korean regime is fully responsible for all events to occur in the future.
3. The National Assembly of the ROK faces the fact that the more North Korea continues provocative behaviors, the more the ROK-US alliance should be consolidated without being weakened, and urges North Korea to start negotiations for denuclearization and a peace settlement on the Korean peninsula.
4. The National Assembly of the ROK urges the Korean government to implement powerful national security to protect the safety of all people and Korea's national security against the nuclear and missile threats by North Korea.
5. The National Assembly of the ROK urges the Korean government to spur more intensive efforts to make North Korea stop illegal provocative behaviors, accept talks to relieve tension on the Korean Peninsula and start negotiations for denuclearization.

The UN General Assembly Third Committee Adopted a Resolution on the Human Rights Situation in the DPRK.
・ The ROK participated as a joint proposer and adopted the resolution by consensus without a vote.
・ Kim Song, the DPRK Ambassador to the UN, expressed resistance, noting that the DPRK resolutely rejected the resolution. He mentioned the Itaewon accident, saying that the Korean government caused the unprecedented accident, allowing people to die due to insufficient internal administration ability, and tried to make the best use of the human rights issue in the UN to reduce internal and external critics.

< Korean Government Statement (November 18) >
1. The Korean government strongly criticized the launch of long-range ballistic missiles (ICBM) by North Korea today. The ICBM launch by North Korea is definitely an infringement upon the UN Security mandate and a severe provocation, elevating tension in the region as well as on the Korean peninsula.
2. All behaviors by North Korea related to nuclear and ballistic missile programs inhibited through the UN Security Council Mandate shall not be legitimated for any reason. The Korean government will not accept provocations by North Korea and will closely work with the UN and the international community to call North Korea to account for provocations on the basis of close ROK and US cooperation. Moreover, the Korean government will enhance security cooperation among the ROK, the US, and Japan more than ever.
3. The Korean government has an overwhelming reaction ability and will immediately punish any provocations by North Korea. Thus, North Korea should not misjudge the ability and will of the ROK.
4. North Korea has nothing to gain from continuing provocations. The international community keeps strengthening sanctions against North Korea, and the international alienation of North Korea will be more aggravated. Moreover, wrong decisions by the North Korean regime will aggravate people’s livelihood falling into extreme economic difficulties in North Korea.
5. The Korean government urges North Korea to stop provocations and respond to the Audacious Initiative supported by the international community.
