On October 9-11, the North Korean media
reported that Kim Jong Un gave field guidance at Farm No. 1116 under
Unit 810 of the Korean People’s Army (KPA), visited the Kumsusan
Palace of the Sun on the occasion of the 74th founding anniversary of
the Workers’ Party of Korea (WPK), and watched performances
celebrating the 74th founding anniversary.
On October 6, the North Korean media reported that the construction
of Phalhyang Dam for the Orangchon Power Station was completed on
October 4.
On October 8, the North Korean media ran an editorial celebrating
the 22nd anniversary of Chairman Kim Jong Il’s election as general
secretary of the WPK, emphasizing, “Our own style of socialism is on a
roll even against a severe gust of wind of history.”
On October 8, the North Korean media reported that Premier Kim Jae
Ryong provided field guidance at electric power and coal
establishments including Huichon Power Station No. 10, the Sunchon
Thermal Power Plant, the Kaechon Coal Mine, the Kaechon Coal-mining
Machine Factory, the Chonsong Youth Coal Mine, and the Munchon Valve Factory.
On October 10, the North Korean media ran an editorial celebrating
the 74th founding anniversary of the WPK, emphasizing, “The absolute
weapon more powerful than nuclear weapons is single-minded unity.”

On October 9, the North Korean media
condemned the ROK military for holding events commemorating the
victory of the Korean war.
On October 9, the North Korean media slammed the ROK National
Assembly’s resolution on the North Korean nuclear and missile program.
【Foreign Affairs】
On October 6, the North Korean media
reported that a spokesperson for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, in a
statement, denounced the US for the breakdown of the DPRK-US
working-level negotiations on October 5, stating, “We have no
intention of holding such sickening negotiations as ... happened this
time (in Sweden) before the US takes a substantial step to make
complete and irreversible withdrawal of the hostile policy toward the DPRK.”
On October 6, the North Korean media reported that Kim Jong Un and
Chinese President Xi Jinping exchanged congratulatory messages.
On October 7, the North Korean media reported that North Korean
residents in Japan held a rally on September 26 in Tokyo and that they
demanded the application of Japan’s tuition-free program to pro-North
Korean kindergartens.
On October 8, the North Korean media slammed Japan for hinting at
deploying jets in the event of a clash in Dokdo airspace in its 2019
Defense White Paper.
On October 10, the North Korean media reported that a spokesperson
for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, in a statement, criticized the
joint statement made on October 8 by six European countries condemning
the North’s submarine-launched ballistic missile (SLBM) test.
