【Internal Affairs】

On June 24, the North Korean media reported that Kim Jong Un presided over a preliminary meeting for the fifth meeting of the Seventh Central Military Commission of the Workers’ Party of Korea (WPK).

On June 22, the North Korean media reported that Premier Kim Jae Ryong gave field guidance at the Hungnam Fertilizer Complex, the February 8 Vinalon Complex, the Hamhung Branch of the State Academy of Sciences, the Ryongsong Machine Complex, and the Kumya Youth Coal Mine.

On June 22, the North Korean media called on the people to create and build more through a campaign of increased production and saving.

On June 25, the North Korean media underscored the Spirit of Defending Fatherland on the occasion of the 70th anniversary of the Korean War.

 

【Inter-Korean Affairs】

On June 21, the North Korean media reported that a spokesperson for the United Front Department of the WPK Central Committee, in a statement, said that there is no change in the plan to scatter leaflets against the South.

On June 21, the North Korean media denounced the South for expressing regret over the demolition of the inter-Korean joint liaison office.

On June 22, the North Korean media reported that the North is preparing for the largest-ever distribution of leaflets against the enemy.

On June 24, the North Korean media reported that Kim Yong Chol, vice chairman of the Central Committee of the WPK, condemned the remarks by the ROK defense minister.

 

【Foreign Affairs】

On June 20, the North Korean media underscored the friendship between North Korea and China on the occasion of the first anniversary of the summit between Pyeongyang and Beijing.

On June 22, the North Korean media reported that a spokesman for the Association of Korean Victims of Forcible Drafting and Their Bereaved Families called on Japan to reflect on its past wrongdoings and render compensation regarding the exhibition of the Hashima Coal Mine.

On June 25, the North Korean media reported that in a research report marking the 70th anniversary of the Korean War, the Institute for Disarmament and Peace under the Foreign Ministry said that the US’s policy on North Korea hasn’t changed.
