On July 26-28, the North Korean media reported that Kim Jong Un
convened an emergency meeting of the Political Bureau of the Central
Committee of the Workers’ Party of Korea (WPK) on July 26; handed out
pistols to his generals and senior officers and paid respects at the
Fatherland Liberation War Martyrs Cemetery on the occasion of the 67th
anniversary of the signing of the Armistice Agreement on July 27; and
delivered his speech at the Sixth National Conference of War Veterans
on July 28.
On July 25, the North Korean media reported that Premier Kim Jae
Ryong gave field guidance at the Pukchang Thermal Power Complex and
the Namdeok Youth Mine.
On July 27, the North Korean media reported that the Political
Bureau of the Central Committee of the WPK declared a state of
emergency in Gaeseong and adopted the decision to shift from the state
emergency anti-epidemic system to the maximum emergency system in
order to overcome the epidemic crisis created by a North Korean
defector crossing the border to reenter the North.
On July 28, the North Korean media reported that Choe Ryong Hae,
president of the Presidium of the Supreme People’s Assembly (SPA),
provided field guidance at the construction site of the Kwangchon
Chicken Farm.
On July 28, the North Korean media reported that the North will
provide food, sanitation goods, and firewood to residents in Gaeseong
locked down as a result of the maximum emergency system.
On July 30, the North Korean media reported that Choe Ryong Hae,
president of the Presidium of the SPA, took stock of the emergency
anti-epidemic work in Gaeseong.

On July 29, the North Korean media blasted the South for joining the
Rim of the Pacific Exercise (RIMPAC).
On July 31, the North Korean media condemned the South for planning
to conduct the ROK-US joint military exercises in August.
