1. Minister’s Schedule
Minister Ryoo Kihl-jae is attending the plenary session of the National Assembly’s legislation and judiciary committee from 10 A.M.
On Wednesday(7.3), Minister Ryoo is scheduled to have a policy meeting with European Union Ambassadors at Hyatt Hotel at 12 P.M.
On Thursday(7.4), Minister Ryoo will give a special lecture to the members of the National Unification Advisory Council’s standing committee and subcommittee at the Grand Hilton Hotel at 2:45 P.M.
2.Vice Minister’s Schedule
This morning Vice Minister Kim Nam-sik is scheduled to sit down for a meeting with Francis Delon, Secretary General for National Defense and Security of France.
On Tuesday(7.2), Vice Minister Kim will sit down for a meeting with Jim Marshall, President of the United States Institute of Peace.
On Friday(7.5), Vice Minister Kim will attend the vice-ministers’ conference at 4 P.M.
3. MOU starts education program for rising scholars of foreign countries
This year the Ministry of Unification launched a ‘course for foreign specialists’ and invited 20 rising scholars and governmental officials of foreign countries who are interested in unification on the Korean Peninsula. The foreign specialists will be educated on unification issues from July 1st to 10th.
The foreign specialists will attend seven lectures and discussion sessions on unification vision and policy, unification diplomacy and international cooperation, national security, exchange and cooperation of South and North Korea, and the reality of North Korea.
On July 8th, the participants are going to attend the international symposium co-hosted by the Unification Ministry and Seoul National University’s Institute for Peace and Unification Studies as presenters and discussion panels.
