1. Schedules and issues regarding Ministry of Unification
Vice Minister Kim Nam-sik will attend the vice-ministers’ conference today.
The opening call at Panmunjeom was made at 9 A.M. as usual.
Also, as we have announced already, two companies received the Inter-Korean Economic Cooperation insurance worth 5.5 billion won yesterday.
2. Regarding the report on “North Korea doubling the size of its uranium enrichment plant”
As the report is relevant to intelligence matters, there is nothing that the Unification Ministry can confirm at this moment. We believe that the following issues can be referred to other ministries.
However, it is important to note that the international community urges North Korea to abandon its nuclear program with one voice and this in fact is the fundamental problem.
Therefore, the Unification Ministry emphasizes once again that North Korea should take actions towards abandoning its nuclear weapons.
