1. Vice Minister’s Schedules
Vice Minister Kim Nam-sik attended the Pyeongchang Winter Olympics Support Committee Meeting at 10 A.M.
Vice Minister Kim will attend the vice-ministers’ conference at 4 P.M.
2. Regarding the proposal to hold working-level meeting for family reunions
The R.O.K. government proposed to hold reunions for the separated families upon Lunar New Year’s Day and working-level Red Cross contacts in order to wipe the tears of the elderly and the separated families who have waited to meet their families with broken hearts.
We believe that it is our duty to help the separated families reunite before it is too late.
The family reunions not only heal the wounded hearts of the elderly, but can be the first step in opening a new door of opportunity in inter-Korean relations.
If the North truly wants to improve inter-Korean relations, it should not merely talk about humanitarian issues.
We once again urge North Korea to show sincerity towards our proposal on resuming reunions for the separated families.
3. Institute of Unification Education renovates website and starts mobile services
The Institute of Unification Education(IUE) renovated its website and started mobile services for people to easily approach unification education contents.
