1. Minister’s Schedules
Minister Ryoo Kihl-jae will attend the New Year meeting of the Supporters of Korean Unification and deliver a congratulatory speech at noon today.
At 3 P.M., Minister Ryoo will sit down for a meeting with the families of the Korean War abductees.
On Saturday(1.25), the Minister will sit down for a meeting with the U.S. Senator Marco Rubio, ranking member of the Senate Foreign Relations Committee’s East Asian and Pacific Affairs Subcommittee and discuss the current situation on the Korean Peninsula at 11 A.M.
2. Vice Minister’s Schedules
Vice Minister Kim Nam-sik will visit traditional markets and welfare facilities at 2 P.M. ahead of the Lunar New Year’s holiday.
At 4:30 P.M., Vice Minister Kim will attend the vice-ministers’ conference.
3. GIC Subcommittee meeting of 3Cs
The GIC subcommittee meeting of the 3Cs began at 10 A.M. according to the schedule. From our side, 5 members attended the meeting including Hong Jean Suk, Director of General Planning Division at the Inter-Korean Cooperation District Development Directorate as the Chairperson.
As we have previously announced, we will hold consultations on issues regarding setting the Radio-Frequency Identification(RFID) system, simplifying the customs clearance, and connecting the Internet at the GIC.
