1. Minister’s Schedules
Minister Ryoo Kihl-jae convened an executive meeting today at 9 A.M.
At 12 P.M., Minister Ryoo will attend the general meeting of the 「Central Association for National Unification of Korea」 and give a special lecture on “Directions and Tasks for the Unification Era.”
On Tuesday(3.25), Minister Ryoo will attend the cabinet meeting at 10 A.M.
At 3 P.M., Minister will attend the 18th Guest Lecture of Renowned Scholars of the Konkuk University’s 「Institute of the Humanities for Unification」 and deliver a special lecture on “Directions and Tasks for the Unification Era.”
2. Vice Minister’s Schedules
Vice Minister Kim Nam-sik will attend the general meeting of the 「Corporate Association of Gaesong Industrial Complex」 and deliver a congratulatory speech at 2 P.M.
3. Unification Ministry publishes 「2014 White Paper on Korean Unification」
The Ministry of Unification published and distributed the 「2014 White Paper on Korean Unification」 that summarized overall progress and achievements of the “Trust-Building Process on the Korean Peninsula” policy in the year 2013.
As this year’s White Paper is the first of the Park Geun-hye administration, it thoroughly explains the government’s North Korea policy of the “Trust-Building Process on the Korean Peninsula.” Also, it describes the major policy tasks such as building a DMZ peace park and promoting cooperation with North Korea and Russia.
4. Entry and exit status
858 South Korean citizens will enter and 368 will exit the GIC today. A total of 286 people stayed in the GIC yesterday.
