1. Minister’s Schedules
Minister Ryoo Kihl-jae will attend the Conference on Interaction and Confidence Building Measures in Asia(CICA) in Shanghai, China from Tuesday to Wednesday(5.20-5.21).
Through his speech at the CICA on Wednesday, Minister Ryoo will emphasize the need for stabilization on the Korean Peninsula to preserve peace within the region. Also he will ask the member states for their attention and active cooperation as he explains the unification policy of the Korean government and the “Peace and Cooperation Initiative in Northeast Asia.”
2. Vice Minister’s Schedules
Vice Minister Kim Nam-sik will attend the 「Global Finance Vision Forum 2014」 hosted by the Dailian(online news outlet) and deliver a keynote address on “Unification, a New Opportunity for the Korean Peninsula” on Thursday(5.22) at 10 A.M.
Vice Minister will attend the Korea International Economic Association(KIEA) Policy Seminar and give a congratulatory speech at 2 P.M., followed by the vice-ministers’ conference at 4 P.M.
On Friday(5.23), Vice Minister will sit down for a meeting with the Executive Director Ertharin Cousin of the United Nations World Food Programme(WFP) and exchange opinions on the WFP’s humanitarian aid to North Korea at 10 A.M.
3. Entry and exit status
877 South Korean citizens will enter and 368 will exit the GIC today. A total of 283 people stayed in the GIC yesterday.
