1. Minister’s Schedule
At 3 P.M. today, Unification Minister Kwon Youngse will meet with UN
Under Secretary-General for Political and Peacebuilding affairs
Rosemary Dicarlo.
Minister Kwon and Under Secretary-General Dicarlo will exchange
views on the current issues regarding North Korea and the Korean
Peninsula, and discuss ways to enhance the UN’s support and
cooperation on the Government’s policy on unification and North Korea.
2. Q&A
Q) Today is the 11th day that regular calls between the South and
the North have been suspended. Do you have any means of communicating
with North Korea or any measures in case an unexpected case where the
North violates the NLL like yesterday, although the Ministry of
National Defense stated that it was an accidental situation.
A) We will try to find ways to communicate through official channels
including regular briefings as well as other methods if necessary.
