1. Unification Ministry to hold meetings with U.S. Special
Representative for the DPRK Sung Kim
Minister Lee In-young will have a breakfast meeting with Special
Representative Sung Kim tomorrow and discuss ROK-U.S. cooperation in
improving inter-Korean relations and achieving denuclearization and
establishing peace on the Korean Peninsula.
Ahead of this meeting, Vice Minister Choi Young Joon will hold
high-level talks with Special Representative Kim this afternoon. The
two sides will share assessments on the current situation in North
Korea and discuss ways to advance the peace process on the Korean Peninsula.
2. Unification Ministry to hold meetings with Russian Deputy Foreign
Minister Igor Morgulov
On August 25, Minister Lee will sit down for a meeting with Deputy
Foreign Minister Igor Morgulov. In a separate meeting, Vice Minister
Choi and Deputy Foriegn Minsiter Morgulov will hold bilateral consultations.
3. Other schedule
On August 27, Minister Lee will deliver congratulatory video remarks
at a seminar commemorating 30 years of operating the inter-Korean
cooperation fund. This event will be co-hosted by the Korea Institute
for National Unification and the Export-Import Bank of Korea.
