1. Two North Koreans Found in South Waters
As announced in yesterday’s press release, the North’s Red Cross demanded the South to disclose the identities of two North Koreans found south of the eastern Korean sea and to immediately repatriate nine other people found off the coast of Japan. The Ministry of Unification will handle the case in accordance with their free will and humanitarian grounds.
2. Briefing on Research About Inter-Korean Communities
Today, the South Korean government will host a briefing on the research about creating inter-Korean communities. The research is based on gradual and multi-step scenario of unification on the Korean Peninsula in the future. The research team conducted a study on tasks, benefits and cost of the unification. Vice Minister Uhm Jong-sik will deliver a congratulatory speech. The briefing is scheduled to be held at Press Center, 2 P.M.
3. Unification Lecture for the Public
Institute of Unification Education provides public lectures on unification through the internet and mobile phones. This is the first lecture for the public since we offered cyber unification lectures in 2004. The primary purpose of the service is to help the public better understand unification as well as the situation in North Korea.
