1. Minister’s Participation in Parliamentary Interpellation
Minister Yu Woo-ik will have a meeting at Special Office for Inter-Korean Dialogue with Seiji Maehara, policy chief of the Democratic Party. The two chiefs are expected to discuss issues of common interest and current inter-Korean relations.
On October 11, the Minister will attend the parliamentary interpellation on political affairs. The interpellation concerning diplomacy, unification, and security is postponed from October 12 to October 19.
On October 11, the Vice Minister Uhm Jong-sik is scheduled to a meeting with five members of the Democratic Party of Japan including Nakai Hiroshi. The leaders will exchange views on the current situation between the two Koreas.
2. New Chairman of Kaesong Industrial District Management Committee
The Ministry of Unification named the former Unification Vice Minister Hong Yang-ho as the new Chairman of Kaesong Industrial District Management Committee. He is expected to serve as the chairman for three years.
