1. Minister Yu To Visit China for Talks on North Korea Policy
Minister Yu Woo-ik will visit China from November 21st to 23rd to have high-level policy talks with Chinese government officials.
Minister Yu is slated to meet State Councilor Dai Bingguo, Former State Councilor Tang
Jiaxuan, Chief of the International Liaison Department of the Chinese Communist Party
Wang Jiarui, and Foreign Minister Yang Jiechi.
Also, Minister Yu will have a meeting with Korean compatriots and businessmen living in China to explain the South Korean government policy on North Korea and to collect their opinions.
Minister’s trip to China is aimed at reinforcing China’s understanding of the current situation on the Korean Peninsula and strengthening strategic cooperative partnership between the two countries.
Minister Yu plans to explain South Korean government’s policy toward North Korea including plans for possible inter-Korean dialogue and show the South’s stance on denuclearization on the Korean Peninsula. Also, Minister Yu will seek understanding and cooperation from Chinese counterparts.
2. Second Day Program for Korea-Germany Joint Consultation Committee on National Unification
MOU hosts two-day conference for Korea-Germany Joint Consultation Committee on National Unification from 17 to 18 November.
The second day of the conference starts under the theme of “Ways of Cooperation between South Korea and Germany for Unification on the Korean Peninsula.”
MOU will host Korea Vision Forum along with Dialogue with the World’s Leaders.
3. Minister’s Schedule
Today, Minister Yu woo-ik is scheduled to take part in an event hosted by The Central Association for National Unification of Korea to deliver congratulatory remarks at Yeomju Stadium, Gwangju at 2 P.M. The event is to mark the 30th anniversary of the committee. Around 5000 committee members as well as Gwangju citizens are expected to join the event.
4. Vice Minister’s Schedule
On Saturday, Vice Minister Kim Chun-sig is slated to participate in ‘Unification Concert’ hosted by SBS Radio station.
