1. Minister’s Schedules
Minister Yu Woo-ik will sit down for a meeting with the US congress representatives including Chairwoman of the House Foreign Affairs Committee Ileana Ros-Lehtinen on Wednesday, 10:00 A.M. at the main conference room of the Unification Ministry. Introductory remarks will be open to the media.
At 15:30 P.M., Wednesday, Minister Yu is scheduled to have a meeting with the president John Hamre of the Center for Strategic and International Studies, Assistant to the US President for National Security Affairs Stephen Hadley, former Deputy Secretary of State Richard Armitage, and former Deputy Secretary of State James Steinberg.
On May 24, 12:00 P.M., the minister will attend and deliver a speech at an academic symposium co-hosted by JoongAng Ilbo and CSIS. The event will take place at the Shilla Hotel, Seoul.
At 16:00P.M., Thursday, Minister Yu will participate in the ‘Unification Concert’ organized by the Ministry of Gender Equality and Family. On this occasion taking place at SETEC, the minister will talk with 300 teenagers under the theme of ‘Our Dream of Achieving a Unified Korea.’
Minister Yu Woo-ik is due to deliver a keynote speech at the 2nd East Asian Community Forum, an event hosted by the ‘Asiatic Research Institute of Korea University’ at 09:10 A.M., Friday.
After attending the forum, Minister Yu will give a special lecture to the members of the ‘National Unification Advisory Council’ in South Jeolla Province at Suncheon City Hall, 16:30 P.M.
2. Vice Minister’s Schedule
Vice Minister Kim Chun-sig will visit the construction site of the 2nd Hanawon in HwaCheon, Gangwon Province on May 25th. The facility is scheduled to be completed by the end of this year.
