1. Minister's Schedule

Minister Lee In-young delivered congratulatory remarks at a special exhibition of goods produced by North Korean defectors held at the National Assembly today at 10 A.M.

On November 3, Minister Lee will attend a consultative meeting between the government and ruling party members of the National Assembly's Foreign Affairs & Unification Committee at 7:30 A.M., followed by the cabinet meeting at 10 A.M.

On November 4, Minister Lee will attend the opening ceremony of the Panmunjeom Tour Support Center at 9 A.M., followed by the inquiry session on policy of the National Assembly's Special Committee on Budget & Accounts.

On November 5, Minister Lee will attend the plenary session of the National Assembly's Foreign Affairs & Unification Committee at 10 A.M., followed by the inquiry session on policy of the National Assembly's Special Committee on Budget & Accounts.

On November 6, Minister Lee will deliver an opening speech at an academic forum on realizing an inter-Korean community of life and peace economy at 10 A.M., and attend a meeting of the Education Council for Unification at 11 A.M.

2. Vice Minister’s Schedule

Vice Minister Suh Ho will attend the vice-ministers’ conference on November 5 at 8 A.M.

3. Q&A

Q. Over the weekend, Chairman Kim Jong Un addressed the Chongryon (General Association of Korean Residents in Japan) and advised them to “conduct activities for friendship with the Japanese people.” How does the Ministry evaluate this?

A. I have seen the report, and will look into any further developments.

Q. There are speculations that inter-Korean relations will be affected by the results of the U.S. presidential election. How is the Unification Ministry preparing for the election outcome?

A. The Ministry is seeking what to do after the election together with related agencies, while closely communicating with domestic and foreign experts.
