1. Minister’s Visit to Hanawon
Minister Yu Woo-ik is scheduled to visit the Settlement Support Center for North Korean Refugees, so-called Hanawon located in Anseong. Minister Yu will be briefed on the lives of North Korean Refugees staying in Hanawon and have a meeting with the refugees to obtain a better understanding of the obstacles they face when they first arrive in South Korea.
2. Vice Minister’s Schedule
Today, Vice Minister Uhm Jong-sik will have a meeting with Peter Maurer, Swiss Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs in his office at 3 PM.
On September 27, Vice Minister Uhm will attend a preview event for “On The Border 2”, a follow-up documentary produced by the Chosun Ilbo. He is going to deliver a congratulatory speech and the event will take place at the National Assembly Members’ Office Building.
On September 29, Vice Minister will be briefed on the research conducted by the Korea Chamber of Commerce. The primary purpose of the research is to propose policies that would contribute to the establishing of "three inter-Korean communities" in the future.
