1. Vice Minister’s Schedule
On Friday, 14:00 P.M., Vice Minister Kim Chun-sig will attend a congratulatory ceremony celebrating the 12th foundation anniversary of the ‘Office for the Promotion of National Unity, Jogye Order of Korean Buddhism’ and deliver a congratulatory speech.
2. Initial Due Date of North Korea’s Food Loan Repayment
June 7th was the initial due date of North Korea’s food loan repayment. However we have received neither food loan repayment nor response to Korea Export and Import Bank’s prior notification regarding the advancement of the due date. Therefore, the chairman of Korea Export and Import Bank sent a notice urging for repayment and informing North Korea’s nonfulfillment of the ‘Inter-Korean Agreement on Provision of Rice loan to North Korea’ to the chairman of the ‘Foreign Trade bank of DPRK’ on Friday morning. The Korean government once again demand North Korea’s faithful fulfillment of the terms agreed by the two Koreas.
3. North Korea’s Continuous Threat and Provocation
North Korea has continuously denounced and posed direct threat toward Korea’s head of state and media outlets. We believe that such actions by the North have clearly crossed the line. The Korean government is keeping a close eye on Pyongyang and we once again urge North Korea to stop such provocative actions immediately.
