On May 23, the Ministry of Unification held the “2023 Youth Dialogue:
Painting a Unified Future Together.”
In Part One, in-depth discussions on ways to raise the awareness of
unification among young people were held.
In Part Two, the main contents of the New Future Initiative on
Unification (tentative) were introduced by the chairman of the
Unification Future Planning Committee and proposals for the New Future
Initiative on Unification pilot project were prepared by each
participating subcommittee.
In Part Three, the results of the in-depth discussions were shared,
and Unification Minister Kwon held a two-way dialogue, including a
Q&A session on unification and North Korean policies, with young people.
“I believe it is quite meaningful that the youth themselves
suggested the causes and solutions for the decline of awareness in
unification among the younger generations, and the Ministry of
Unification will make more progressive efforts to garner views from
the younger generations, when establishing unification policies, as we
are doing today,” Minister Kwon said.
“We will make sure to collate and review the proposals on the New
Future Initiative on Unification pilot project proposed by the youth,”
he added.
Events such as a Youth Dialogue Creative Song Music Performance, a
Line Drawing Performance, and a North Korean Human Rights Big Game
Beta Test were held as part of the Youth Dialogue.
