Minister Kim Yung Ho delivers congratulatory remarks at an academic
conference on “Why Liberal Democracy?” hosted by KINU (September 19)
On September 19, Unification Minister Kim Yung Ho attended the
academic conference under the theme of “Why Liberal Democracy?”
organized by the Korean Institute for National Unification (KINU) and
stressed the vision of “a unified Korean Peninsula that is free and at peace.”
In his congratulatory remarks, Minister Kim stated that as it is
important to deter North Korea from developing its nuclear program and
make the North abandon it, he will bring North Korea to the
negotiation table for denuclearization that centers around the
Audacious Initiative.
Also, the minister said that he will drive to bring about changes in
North Korea’s behavior on North Korean human rights by cooperating
with the international community.
“The ministry will make a new unified future blueprint under firm
values and vision and prepare for unification based on it by garnering
the will for unification from the people,” he added.
