On June 21, Unification Minister Kwon Youngse attended an academic
conference held under the theme of “70 Years of Armistice Agreement,
Korean Peninsula Issues and Changes in the World Order” and delivered
congratulatory remarks.
Minister Kwon said, “Over the past 70 years since the signing of the
Armistice Agreement, we put in a great deal of effort to establish
peace on the Korean Peninsula and open up a unified future.”
“The task of our time is to develop the legacy of the Armistice
Agreement and permanently establish peace on the Korean Peninsula,” he added.
The minister also stated, “It is of utmost importance that the
government, the people, and the international community come together
in a unified response to ensure that North Korea abandons its nuclear
program and comes forward onto the path of shared prosperity.”
Lastly, he mentioned that “the Yoon administration will exert every
effort to guide North Korea to make the right changes in a flexible
and open manner in tune with the times.”
