This year's last meetings between the authorities of South and North Korea will be under way in Pyongyang on December 17-20 focusing on working out institutional means to accelerate bilateral economic cooperation.

The meetings include working-level discussions on the inter-Korean economic cooperation system, on clearance and settlements, and on certificates of origin.

A South Korean delegation arrived at Pyongyang's Sunan Airport Wednesday (December 17) afternoon via Shenyang, China, to attend the three separate meetings held at Yanggangdo Hotel.

In the meeting on the economic cooperation system, the two sides will discuss roundtrip passages of South Koreans to North Korea's Gaeseong City and Mt. Geumgang regions as well as guarantees for their safety and safe return based on an agreement between the authorities.

In the meeting on clearance and settlements, they will decide on the limits of both clearances and credits, interest rates and items to be covered. In the meeting on country-of-origin certificates, several points will be discussed on how to enforce the agreement on the procedures reached on July 31 to certify country of origin.
