South and North Korea will hold a pilot video reunion for the first time in joint commemoration of the 60th anniversary of national liberation on August 15.
20 families will meet with their family members in the morning session and 20 families in the afternoon session for about 2 hours after more than half a century of separation.
5 booths for video reunion installed in the National Headquarters of the Korean National Red Cross located in Namsan-dong, Choong-gu, Seoul and 6 booths in Pusan, Daegu, Incheon, Suwon, Daejeon, and Kwangju will be connected with the video reunion site in Pyongyang.
Before the actual video reunion begins, President Han Wan-Sang of the ROK National Red Cross and President Chang Jae-Eon of the DPRK National Red Cross will exchange messages on video screen.
