The Ministry of Unification is set to launch the “Establishment of
National Consensus on Unification Policy” as a new initiative for
2024, with the aim of fully incorporating the opinions of the people
into the decision-making and implementation processes of unification policy.
The Unification Ministry will arrange public discussions involving a
total of 1,000 citizens to foster national consensus on unification
policy through the collection of public opinions and communication
through discussions.
Discussions will be held across regions, including the capital area,
Chungcheong, Yeongnam, and Honam. To gather a range of perspectives,
the Ministry will invite the general public, opinion leaders involved
in unification and North Korea policies, and the younger generation.
The Unification Ministry will foster a national consensus by
facilitating mutual discussions where the people can personally
participate and express their opinions on specific unification policies.
The Ministry aims to foster a national consensus on unification
policies grounded in the liberal democratic order and lay the
groundwork for their implementation by reflecting the shared opinions.
The Ministry of Unification will persist in its efforts to expand
the understanding of unification by communicating with the public
