On September 6 and 9, the North Korean media reported that Kim Jong
Un presided over the meeting of the Executive Policy Council of the
Central Committee of the Workers’ Party of Korea (WPK) and gave field
guidance in the typhoon-affected areas in South Hamgyeong Province
(September 6); and emphasized the importance of weapons development at
the 6th meeting of the 7th Central Military Commission of the WPK
Central Committee (September 9).
On September 5, the North Korean media underscored that the Party
organizations and workers should apply the people-first principle to
Party work.
On September 5, the North Korean media reported that Kim Jae Ryong,
vice chairman of the WPK Central Committee, presided over a meeting to
learn from the irresponsible attitude of officials in Wonsan City and
Gangwon Province, which caused the loss of lives during Typhoon Maysak.
On September 7, the North Korean media reported that some 300,000
party members in Pyeongyang volunteered to help with recovery efforts
in typhoon-hit regions in South and North Hamgyeong provinces.
On September 9, the North Korean media reported that a rally was
held in Pyeongyang to show the power of the flying column in typhoon
damage recovery efforts.
On September 9, the North Korean media maintained that the DPRK is
the result of the idea of believing in the people as in Heaven and the
genuine people’s country on the occasion of the 72nd founding
anniversary of the DPRK.
On September 10, the North Korean media reported that Division No.1
of party members of the capital city arrived in the damaged areas of
South Hamgyeong Province.
On September 10, the North Korean media promoted development in
public health under Chairman Kim Jong Un’s leadership.
On September 11, the North Korean media emphasized the single-minded
unity of the people in flood and typhoon damage recovery efforts.

On September 10, the North Korean media called on Japan to apologize
and render compensation regarding the massacre of Koreans after the
Great Kanto Earthquake.
